To talk to you

I knocked your door last night because I need someone to talk to. My roommate has left, my P-I-C is in Labis and my friends are so occupied with their life. I figured that I can have a little chat with you but...you felt asleep when I was in the middle of the conversation. So sad, I want to talk to you because I need guidance in life as I want to change; but maybe next time buddy?

I should play the role of Juno...

Have you guys and girls watched this movie? Well, I just finished watching the movie because I did not watch it when it was a hit in 2007. I enjoyed watching this movie until the end and I can't stop thinking about pregnancy ever since. Can you imagine being sixteen years old and get yourself pregnant? Wow, that would shock my parents then, haha.

Well, this movie is about Juno, (Ellen Page) who had her first sex with her best friend, Paulie Bleeker (played by Michael Cera) on a chair. That was their first time having sex and they did not have feelings for each other at all. She discovered that she was pregnant and took three pregnancy tests just to confirm her condition. At first, she decided to abort the baby but changed her mind and want to give it for adoption.

For me, Juno is a good example teenage girl who got pregnant and want to be responsible for her mistakes. She knew that it was wrong for her to abort the baby because "every child has the right to be born".

There are lots of incident happening in the movie that we should observe and adopt in our society. Firstly, Juno realized that she had made a terrible mistake in her life and she admit it to her parents (it is so hard to find this kind of teenager nowadays). She stood up for herself, the baby and the guy who made her pregnant as everyone was involved in that matter.

Secondly, Juno has a very supportive family members and friends. Her father did not kill her after he found out that Juno was expecting a baby and ironically, Juno's stepmother can join the craziness of the family. Her mother was not the stereotypically evil step mother that we can see in most family movies. She accepts the fact that she would be a grandmother and helps to take care of Juno and the baby's health. I almost cried when her mother stood up for her in an incident happening at the clinic -please view this movie yourself and you can feel what I have felt.

Juno's best friend is also awesome and all her dialogues are meaningful! I would love to copy all that and use it in my college! One of it is "My mum doesn't know that we are sexually active!". That dialogue is funny yet ironic right?

Juno

Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner are also one of the famous faces you can see in the movie so don't forget to rent a DVD of this movie yea? I am sure that all of us will learn better about the emotions of being a young pregnant woman in school and society. This movie can give us solutions to what is currently happening to Malaysian teenagers and I hope that all of us can learn about teenager pregnancy and learn to find solution; not to point fingers to each other.

Salam and God bless!

Skyline Movie Premier!

Don't look up!

Photobucket
Meet the Nuffnangers!
From left, Wanie, Myra, Suzai, Myrmia and Azham!

Azam and I went to watch the movie Skyline at TGV Wangsa Walk on the night that marks the end of our final examination. We both went out and spent the night out in Kuala Lunpur city until the next morning. Anyway, I have rated the movie for 4 out of 5 stars. It was a great movie with one of the best Computer Generated Images (CGI) effects used in a movie.

I would love to play the part of Jarrod if I were given the chance to act in this movie. This is the kind of movie that I would like to be a part of it. It is full of tense, drama, emotionally made to let us not have a comfortable journey watching it. All in all, I love Skyline so much!

I kind of like the idea of the unorganized plots in the movie. It kept me away from the conventional way of movie being made and I was also kept awake for the rest of the show. I must thank Nuffnang for letting me and Azam the opportunity to distress ourselves after two weeks we were busy preparing for our examination. Here is one of the pictures taken on the night of the movie screening.

Nuffnang and TGV Cinema are very generous for sponsoring all Nuffnagers with Skyline Note Pad, popcorn, Coke and especially the free invitation to watch Skyline! I received a "I Love Nuffnang" button too! Thank you Nuffnang and TGV Cinema!

P/S: I am Azham,
Note that my name is spelled with the alphabet 'H' in the middle of the spelling.
(Hehehe, *evil laugh)

Skyline: My movie partner is revealed!

Yes, as I have mentioned yesterday, I will be going to watch Skyline with a partner tomorrow at TGV Wangsa Walk. I cannot wait to distress myself as tomorrow marks the end of the final examination. My paper for Social Studies will start at 2.30pm and ends at 5.30pm. So, hopefully we both can start to dress up in a sky-blue coloured t-shirt and probably paint our face red for the gathering.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have won two tickets to watch Skyline and thanks to Nuffnang and TGV Cinemas for sponsoring me with such blessings! I love both of you!
For more information, you guys and girls can click this link.

And I will announce the person who will go and watch the movie with me!
(drums and music please?)

The lucky person is Mr. Alexs Nuk!
Yeay! He deserves a pre-birthday party celebration in Wangsa Walk.
Shhh, let this be a surprise first.
I hope that he will not be reading this entry tonight!

So Mr. Alexs Nuk,
You've been booked by me to go and watch this movie with me!
Be prepared with your stuffs and such because we are going to sleep outside tomorrow night!
(This is because, the movie will end at probably 12.00 am in the morning!),
No chance of us to get back to the hostel before the curfew.

P/S: This is the reason why I chose him to go out with me,
So that we can stay and sleep at any place nearby.
It won't be the same if I invite a girl to go out with me,
She might be misunderstood by the society for going out late at night.
Oh, pity us. We are going to have no place to sleep!

Dilemma, dilemma.

Oh yes,
I was born to make myself and my friends happy!

Eat, Pray, Love

I went out to watch the movie Eat, Pray, Love at TGV KLCC
Just now with Adibah, Nateesha, Shafik, Harris and Azam.
The movie was okay, I rated three stars and a half only for the movie, seriously.
You go and watch the movie and you'll know what I mean.
Nevertheless, I officially announce that we have all

EATen, PRAYed and LOVEd

I love the part where Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) went to Itali to taste all different kinds of Italian food there.
She made me starve in the cinema and I stuffed myself with just a box of popcorn.
The part where she went to India to find peace via praying (yoga) is kind of boring and long.
I slept for about 10 minutes but woke up when she went to Bali and found her love there.
After all, the movie was worth the price and more than two hours of duration.

P/S: I am hoping that one day I can act in that kind of romantic movie.
I want to be an evil character because that is so me!

They Are All About Me

Source: Mr. Google Image

These poems here are all about me, it is not boring I tell you.
You will realize it one day that I am not lying
Or write about other people's life.
All these masterpieces here are all about me.

Try to figure out the puzzles I made into the poem form
And tell me what you understand about my life,
I will answer you dear, truthfully.
That is one thing that will not bore you.

I put other people's perspective in my poems because,
I know you Guys and Girls will not believe me
If I told you that it is my story that is being written.
Trust me that I write about my own tale.

P/S: This post is not meant to hurt, just to express feelings and emotions.
I am not angry or affected by your comments dear, but I appreciate it...
Thanks for dropping by...

Backstabber Must Die!

Source: Mr. Google Image
I accidentally killed her,
On my way to the office,
In front of Student's Affair Department,
When The Director was also watching.

Yes, I killed her.
I accidentally slitted her throat,
And now I realized that
The girl was my best friend's fiancé.

It was supposed to be him that died this morning,
And now how am I going to tell John?

The Signs of Ageing

The signs of ageing is
When grey hair outnumbered his red hair,

his laughing lines become so visible
that he could not fake another smile
and his friends are leaving;
that is definitely the beautiful part of the end of his life.

P/S: Where should he go and seek for help?
Ij*i Kapoor HairCare?
Al*xs Nuk Weight Management?
or J**zli Ahmad SkinCare?

Supposed to be a daddy but ended up in a tragedy

His wife was pregnant and he was excited,
Their first baby they were expecting.
Nine months they waited and today she would due,
Preparations had been made just wait for the clue.

He drove his wife to the hospital when her water broke,
She shouted non-stop for the pain she could not handle.
Baby’s head was out and he looked back to check,
Without realizing the car he drove was off the edge.

The car plunged down, rolled twice and burnt,
Mrs. Hale was shocked and she too was out.
He stopped breathing when a new life was born,
And was supposed to be a daddy but ended up in a tragedy,
That is definitely how beautiful his life is.

Watch Out Jenny Humphrey!

I guess I was being so kind to people
until they stepped onto my head.
I guess they now didn't respect me
because I am nobody high up in their social ranking,

I used to be the queen in their heart and,
they used to bring ice-cream and we'll eat it on the staircase,
but now I was dethroned by one tiny mouse
that clings onto all my friends to show what authoritarian rule is.

She must have been jealous of me having so many friends before
while she usually sits at the losers' table for lunch and watch us laughing.
Then it's true, life rolls up and down and now I am at the bottom of the popularity.
I have to do something, to be the queen and to rule the school again.

P/S: My headband should be worn on the right side of my head,
and my friends should too, because I will get my life back in St. Jude!

XoXo,

B.W

The Notebook: Movie Review

The movie starts in a nursing home when an elderly man named Duke begins to read a love story from his notebook to a female fellow patient named Allie who is suffering ‘senile dementia’ where her memory is slipping from her more and more every day. Duke reads the story of two lovers who meet in the south at a carnival. Allie was 17 years old city girl and she came from a wealthy family background but Noah was just a country boy. The two spend the whole summer together but Allie is forced to move and go to college although she was willing to give it up for Noah. Noah writes Allie 365 letters but she never gets them so he restores the house him and Allie went to one night with hope that once Allie sees his picture and the house, she will be drawn back to him. Seven years passes and Allie meets and falls in love with a wealthy soldier Lon and is engaged. When seeing Noah's picture in the paper, Allie goes back to Seabrook with intention just to check whether Noah is okay or not but they spent a few days together and she doesn't want to leave. Allie has to choose between her fiancé and Noah and on one day her mother came to the town and she gave her a bundle of letters from Noah which she has been hiding from Allie. Allie was confused and after seeing Lon at the hotel, she chooses to be with Noah and they were married. In present day, the old Allie has now retrieved her memories back and realized that the story Duke was reading was based on their love story and Duke is Noah, her husband but in a short time, she forgets about what had just happened. He goes to Allie's room later that night, and Allie remembers again. The next morning, a nurse finds them in bed together, having both died peacefully holding each other's hands.

The movie depicts the theme of love between an elderly couple and how the husband is willing to take care of the wife even though the process of getting her memories back is difficult. It is so hard to find a husband like Noah nowadays who still stay and be with her senile wife and this shows how strong their love bond is. This also shows that Allie has actually chosen the best man to be with her and share their love together and metaphorically they died together after Allie remembers all her memories.

In the movie, Allie’s fiancé is portrayed as a wealthy soldier Lon Hammond Jr. but in the novel, Lon is actually a handsome, sophisticated and charming lawyer from old Southern money. The purpose of the filmmaker to do this was maybe to compare Noah Calhoun’s ordinary soldier life to Lon’s successful life. This was done to illustrate why Allie felt more secured when she was with Lon and also the approval of their marriage by Allie’s parents.

The filmmakers have made the best decision when they chose the role players for the movie because each of these actors is pitch-perfect and legendary. Ryan Gosling plays the character of young Noah Calhoun and James Garner as the present day Noah while Rachel McAdams plays the character of young Allie Hamilton and Gena Rowlands plays the characters of the elder Allie. “The Notebook” is a combination of young and veteran casts and all were evenly dispersed throughout. They managed to brings freshness to these characters and make the characters feel interesting and unique and they have shown their best act by having most of the audience broke down in tears at the end of the movie.

“The Notebook” does not exactly take much for the audience to guess how the story is going to develop and end. The movie will play on your emotions and will let you squeeze out a few tears but it is a movie that you can relax and let flow over you. It is also one of the few films out there that tell a complete story as there is a well-defined beginning, middle, and end for the movie. The audiences are not left with questions inside their head once they stepped out from the cinema because everything is well answered in the movie and that is the most interesting idea of the movie.

The plot and all the scenes in the movie move smoothly and it does not take much for the general idea of each scene to be understood. This is very important so that the audiences will get excited to finish the movie. There is also no scene that moves very slowly and this happens to keep the audiences chaired on their seats.

The language used in the movie is simple and concise. Every dialogue is well composed by the script writer and this movie is actually adapted by a novel written by Nicholas Sparks who also wrote remarkable novels such as ‘A Walk to Remember’ and ‘Dear John’. The present day Noah acts as a narrator who reads the notebook and he narrates the flow of the movie very well and the audience will be moved away with beautiful and meaningful quotations and lines from the movie.

This is a must-watch movie for love couples out there so do not miss your chance to see this movie and ponder about your own love story. It will entertain you for two hours and maybe after watching the movie, you can spend some time to read the novel.

Social Studies: Movie Review (The Kingdom of Heaven)

  • ·         Give a brief introduction of how the conflict started.
  • ·         Name the type of conflict shown in this movie and elaborate on it.
  • ·         Identify three characters and describe the conflict they faced (interpersonal/intrapersonal conflict).

The Kingdom of Heaven

The movie Kingdom of Heaven is mainly talking about Balian (Orlando Bloom) who is a French blacksmith that received an offer by a crusader Lord Godfrey to be a crusader. Lord Godfrey reveals that he is actually Balian’s father and at that time Balian has just lost his whole family because his wife committed suicide as they have lost their child. He finally accepts the offer after a local priest forced him to accept the offer. At that period of time, the Crusades were in collision with the Muslims for over 200 years during the Middle Ages.

The movie is actually about conflicts between religious misunderstandings and different beliefs among the Muslims and the Crusaders. Crusaders are the people involved in the Crusades (wars between the European Christian and the Muslims in Palestine). The conflict started when the Muslims have been receiving negative impressions by the Crusader such as being the competition for the Crusaders. This is due to the stereotype about the Muslims and Islam used to rally the Crusaders. All these led to a major war between this two and caused many lost of lives to the family and the community.

This conflict is the same with what is happening to the world nowadays. In United States of America, there are certain people who stereotype the Muslims in their community. They have been receiving bad treatments by some of the people who are still paranoid with the presence of Muslim and Islam there. There are cases where the Muslims were called as ‘terrorist’ just because they have long beard and wear outfits like the people in Afghanistan and Iraq. This has been a major problem faced by the Muslims after “September 11” incidents that shook the whole world. After US government has decided to fight terrorism, many of their citizens associate Muslims as terrorist based on previous records of bombing cases in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is what we call inter-religion conflict and that was being highlighted in the movie.

In the movie, the main character, Balian faces a serious intrapersonal conflict when his wife died. He has lost his faith because he loves his wife so much and her absence really has made his life turn into darkness. He tried very hard to regain the light if his life although his wife has already been dead. Besides, he also faces interpersonal conflict when he was asked to accept the offer to become the Crusader. He at first rejected the offer but was forced to accept the offer by the priest so this shows that Balian faces conflict within himself.

The second most important character in the movie is Balian’s father, Godfrey of lbein. He faces interpersonal conflict when he tried his best to persuade his son to join the Crusaders. In addition, he also needs to convince Balian that he is his father because he had left his son a long time ago. It was hard because Balian did not want to believe him at first but his effort is worthy after a while. When Godfrey passes his sword to his son as a symbolic that he is going to die, he also passes on that sacred oath: to protect the helpless, safeguard the peace, and work toward harmony between religions and cultures, so that a kingdom of heaven can flourish on earth.

In the movie, the King which is King Baldwin suffers from a skin disease called “leprosy” that causes painful white areas on the skin and can destroy nerves and flesh. To cover his ugly face, he needs to wear a mask because he was scared that someone might get infected and he was also ashamed of his own skin and health condition. At the end of the movie, we can see his horrible face at the day of his funeral and we can feel how the king has a very low self-esteem in his life before.

The Other Side of My Story

I'm slowly sinking in a vast lake of quick sands,
a bottomless pool.
I wish I could crawl under a rock and sleep forever.
No one understands me.
No one in this house can accept my side of the story.
I can feel God's eyes looking down on me with pity.
I can't never let anyone find out I'm not straight.
It would be so humiliating,
my friends would hate me.
And my family,
I've overheard them.
They've said that they hate gays,
and even God hates gays.
It really scares me when they talk that way
because now they are talking about me.
I don't want to choose sin,
I don't.
I'm so mad and frustrated God.
I seem to be at the end of the road.
Why do you remain silent?

------------

30th May

Had fun. Mum was sweet and funny self, like the old mum. For a second it felt like the old days. She smiled at something I said, and I saw her eyes that for a second she forgot what she really thinks of me. The anger never erupts. My timid nature would never allow a full fledge thunderstorm to occur. But it's there, on the horizon. I can feel God's eyes looking down on me with such pity. He can't help me though, because I've chosen sin over righteousness.

Gossip Girl: Total Eclipse of the Heart

While most people think it is our brain that controls our actions, it is often our heart that gets the biggest workout. It makes us do the craziest-est thing, but it can also let us take a chance for some new adventure. Because when we open our heart, we can explore a world of love, and be pleasantly surprised with people all ready in our life. But unfortunately, our hearts are very sensitive, and when they are broken, everything around us shattered. Total eclipse of the heart!

XOXO

Gossip Girl: Lessons Learnt

When I watched Gossip Girl,
I realized that I was trying to be one like
Georgina, Blair, Jenny, Nate, Chuck and Dan
but for good reasons.

I want to be as manipulative as Blair Waldorf,
Cold-hearted like Georgina Sparks,
Full of aim like Jenny Humphrey,
And good looking as Nate, Chuck and Dan.
(Well these three guys have other better things to showcase).

Yes, I adore them.
They can get everything they want in life.
They can shop the whole world while I can't afford to go to Pavilion KL.
They can just walkaway or turn around when they messed up things.
The best part was, they are all bold to be honest.
Look at Serena and Blair,
They both had a fight but five minutes later,
things have changed.
They told each other what they were not satisfied for
and then everything was settled.
Isn't that good?

This is the thing that we lack in our culture.
We Malaysians love to keep our problems to ourselves.
Look at how many people fought because
they were too scared to be honest to tell the truth.
(I mean when the other found out that one was not telling the truth).
Hell that hurts.
It is time that we should practice honesty.
I had enough of having heartache when somebody told me about my attitude
while I just ignored and accepted their natural behavior.

I'll probably say things like this
(in Georgina's tone):
"Hey dude, you know what?
You've been telling me about my looks and my attitude but I coped with yours pretty well.
You are not perfect yourself but I don't care.
I accepted you as a friend and I don't judge you,
I think that was better than anything else.
It is time for you to learnt to accept people's flaws and bear with it.
Some people may need time to change and some may not want to.
I'll choose my own path and thank you with your thought.

P/S:That's so Stevia-sweet of you!
