Going Places: Empangan Mengkuang

Empangan Mengkuang, situated in Seberang Perai Tengah district, Pulau Pinang and located 28 kilometers from Butterworth is another great spot for recreational activities.

Visitors can come here for jogging with families as it is open everyday. The view and water from the dam (empangan) can soothe your mind too.

This is one of the biggest dam in Pulau Pinang, with 3.9 km square feet area and 23.6 billion liter cubic of water. It provides sufficient water for Seberang Perai Utara, Tengah and Selatan area. 

I went there yesterday for brisk walking, and many people come here for recreational activities too. On weekends, there are also people kayaking as this place is suitable for various water sports.

 

I saw two wedding couples and a group of photographers taking photos for their wedding albums as the view is great! From up here, it looks like I am in New Zealand right? 

This is a perfect place for wedding photo-shoots, healthy activities and just walk here to enjoy the nature. 

For those with families, no worries because there are parking spots, motorcycle parking and jogging track. The view from up the dam is scenic, trust me.
